Since it was announced, it's been difficult to know what to air about Todd Phillips' Joker heritage film. on the one hand it seems unnecessary, similar to the Solo: A Star Wars bank account problem that no one was asking for a bank account about how this air came to be. on the additional hand it is separate from the DCEU, and Joaquin Phoenix is involved. As such, the fanbase has been in a divulge of skepticism and intrigue similar to this film. Fans aren't the unaccompanied ones similar to contaminated feelings about it either. Writer Scott Snyder has been writing comics for the augmented allowance of a decade for both Marvel and DC-- similar to tons of Batman stories under his belt. correspondingly he's something of an authority on the subject of the Joker. The Batman writer shared his blunt guidance on Todd Phillips' Joker, saying:
I air similar to it SHOULDN'T function and yet...I'm genuinely crazy in flames for it. It seems daring, strange and dark in a quirk that could be visionary. In the end, the worst offense w/Joker would be playing it safe, boring, correspondingly I'm all in for something similar to this.
Scott Snyder's opinion, while blunt, seems to echo the opinions of some fans. His sentiment towards the Joaquin Phoenix film is one of trepidation and skepticism that, adjoining all logic, is overridden by curiosity and excitement. This is a man who has written plenty of Batman stories, and initially seems to give a positive response a Joker heritage bank account shouldn't work. That is far afield from an odd belief, similar to the best iteration of the character, Heath Ledger's enigmatic angry dog, keeping nothing in his pockets but knives and lint. correspondingly showing his heritage and dispelling the ambiguity opens the door, and could easily go wrong. And yet the prospect of this film is then what makes it correspondingly intriguing.
As Scott Snyder says on Twitter, this film is risk-taking by its definition, which is extremelyexciting. The fact that Joker is separate from the DCEU presumably gives it a level of freedom, similar to the bank account and the air to pull off something we haven't seen before. That Todd Phillips' vision was compelling tolerable to acquire capability similar to Joaquin Phoenix and Robert De Niro to star in a comic cassette movie then leads one to give a positive response that this movie will not be playing it safe. Those factors and the comparisons to taxi Driver and The King of Comedy object that, similar to Scott Snyder says, Joker seems similar to it will be strange and dark and hopefully visionary.
We got our first taste of that vision yesterday similar to a look at Joaquin Phoenix in makeup for a camera exam for the film. We don't know for clear if this is just Arthur Fleck's clown makeup, pre-Joker transformation or not, but already you can acquire a desirability of how different this might be from what we are used to. Whether it will function remains to be seen, but it is clear that Todd Phillips and company will not be playing it safe.
Joker opens in theaters on October 4, 2019. For movies hitting theaters a bit sooner, check out our 2018 pardon schedule.
"Dark Phoenix" is expected to be the final major "X-Men" movie under Fox, besides a "New Mutants" spin-off that comes to theaters in August. Fans shouldn't expect the X-Men to be teased in the MCU
