Though Dark Phoenix has been in the works for a while, we essentially havent seen all that much footage from the blockbuster. Sure, weve seen a couple of trailers come out, but once considered in the context of how much period there was amongst previews, what weve seen doesnt amount to much. Its a bit of a surprise, given that the film is now just a few months away from release, but the publicity for the movie broke the drought in a huge quirk today by showing off a couple of full scenes at WonderCon.
20th Century Fox held a special Dark Phoenix panel at the Anaheim Convention middle today, and in addition to having a panel featuring a bunch of stars and filmmakers, the film along with showed off nearly 20 minutes of footage. Its all pretty cool stuff, and you can locate the details about it below:
The sequence started once a shot from in back the X Mansion, once the basketball court inauguration in the works and the Blackbird launching from the hanger underneath. The X-Men are on a mission - on board are Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), mammal (Nicholas Hoult), Quicksilver (Evan Peters), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), and Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) but it isnt a typical Earthbound adventure. For the first period ever they are making their quirk into space, and its sure that its not an setting in which they are very comfortable.
News stations from on the world are broadcasting the event, showcasing the popularity of the worlds first superhero team. even though the X-Men are on the move, Professor X (James McAvoy) is in Cerebro communicating once NASA, who are reporting an incident once a shuttle in distress involving a solar flare. As we look through the eyes of the mutant team, however, its not exactly a normal cosmic event, as it looks more once there is a dangerous buildup floating and getting closer to the anxious spaceship which is shown spinning out of direct once a busted thruster.
Calling the shots, Mystique explanation that before they can pull off all they obsession to stop the rotation of shuttle, but Nightcrawler explanation that he cant teleport in because he cant look into it. The job next falls to Cyclops, who is told that he needs to blast the thruster and stop the spin. He goes below deck, lines his specialized visor in the works once a periscope-esque targeting system, and successfully fires an optic blast that gets the in-trouble ship to stop.
With the concern more manageable, Nightcrawler and Quicksilver are called into piece of legislation to teleport to the NASA vessel and meanwhile Storm seals the broken thats been ended once ice. In hyper-speed mode, Quicksilver takes the seatbelts off all of the astronauts, and next tosses them towards the back of the shuttle where Nightcrawler is waiting. once everyone is collected, they BAMF and locate themselves back on the Blackbird.
All seems with ease and fine and the call is made to head house until one of the rescued astronauts points out that the mission isnt ended yet. Their commander was in the airlock infuriating to repair the thruster at the period of the rescue, and he remains there once the solar flare getting closer and closer. Mystique wants to leave, not wanting to risk the members of her team for one more person, but Professor X insists that they stay and pull off all they possibly can to save the steadfast vigor in danger.
With Storm no longer skilled to save the ship together once ice, Jean Grey audaciously claims that she can slow the destruction, but she needs to acquire closer to the ship. Both Cyclops and Professor X back her up, even though mammal explanation that there is less than a minute before the solar flare hits and becomes too dangerous to survive. The call is made, and Nightcrawler and Jean teleport over, once the powerful telepath keeping the construction of the ship together. The commander is saved by Nightcrawler, but as period runs out Jean finds herself trapped as the flare hits. Cyclops screams asking where Jean is, but all they can pull off is helplessly watch from afar as the cosmic vigor engulfs the damaged shuttle.
With Jean, we watch as she starts to absorb the vigor screaming as she does and its an experience that it seems Professor X has right along once her. What adds an engaging note, however, is that even though allocation of the solar flare seems to attempt and reach out to the Blackbird, Jean uses her captivation to absorb it, and winds in the works absorbing all of it. The shuttle explodes and everyone thinks that Jean is dead. once all the lawlessness is over, Nightcrawler teleports and brings her to be back once the X-Men and even though the work initially mourns, she next opens her eyes to express that she is sentient (with a bit of orange swimming on in her irises).
The X-Men home back on Earth to much fanfare, and the celebrating continues once they acquire back to the X Mansion. Everyone is happy, and Professor X is feeling acceptable narcissism to end all classes for the stop of the day, but Mystique is very not happy about the sum up situation. After Xavier checks in on Jean Grey, sending her to acquire a full medical exam, Mystique takes him into his office, and she has a frank expression once him about the increased risks that are mammal taken. She is worried about the safety of the recruits, and is afraid that the wheelchair-bound telepath is taking on improved and improved challenges just for the sake of his ego. He counters, however, by acknowledging that mutants are mammal fashionable unlike any further period in history, and that without help one bad day could consequences in their nice mammal hated and despised again. Its sure that its not an concern that is going to be solved once one discussion, but at the very stop Mystique gets in one last shot, noting not without help that its been a minute before Xavier last risked his own life, and that women are for that reason consistently saving the men that the team pronounce should be changed to X-Women.

Overall, the footage was engaging if not just because it shows off a lot of further stuff that we havent actually seen in once X-Men movies. The titular team operates in a very swing quirk than further iterations particularly once the quirk in which it pairs sure mutant abilities together in order to reach a sure goal. Its along with a bit that gives us quite a lot of clarity once it comes to where all of these characters stand within this credit particularly Professor X, Mystique, Magneto, Cyclops, and particularly Jean Grey.
Weve obviously been waiting for Dark Phoenix for a long time, but its now actually on here.
